Veronica Canelea

Veronica has over 20 years of artistic experience and her passion for music is a result of her dedication as a professional musician.  Veronica, originally from Romania,  is a graduate from the Music University in Bucharest, with a psychopedagogy minor.  She has been teaching music throughout her career as a professional musician and choir director.

Veronica is bilingual in French and English.  She gives instruction for voice and piano, and she enjoys working with children and adults.

Veronica’s teaching method is based on developing the natural qualities that the student already has and building the “vocal instrument” without effort,  and for piano students to read music as easily as a story book.

Veronica began music at the age of seven with piano lessons and started voice when she joined the Romanian National Opera Children’s choir. That was followed a few years later with collaborations with artistic ensembles such as Symbol Youth Choir, Patriarchal Palace Choir, Madrigal National Chamber Choir, Academic Radio Choir.

Her formation as a choir leader and vocalist provided access to a variety of repertoire that ranges from Renaissance to the Contemporary composers.

As a lyric artist she toured extensively in Europe : Belgium, France, Sweden, Netherland, Germany, France, Greece, Austria and her country of origin, Romania.

With orchestral ensembles Veronica worked under famous batons such as Vladimir Jurowski, James Judd, Cristian Macelaru, Cristian Mandeal, Kent Nagano, Sacha Getz, and on the stage of a world famous International Festival, “George Enescu.”
