Rock, Blues, Pop, Jazz styles
Rob started playing guitar as a teenager and absorbed jazz through the influence of his father, an experienced jazz guitarist who regularly in Toronto during the 1950s and 1960s. Before attending the Humber College jazz Program Rob studied with private teachers in Toronto, including Tony Bradan (who taught Ed Bickert, Lorne Lofsky, and Rob Piltch) and Andy Krehm (Phil Nimmons Big Band).
After these studies Rob joined a number of rock and alternative music groups in Toronto. These bands focused on the popular music including, the Police, XTC, the Cure and Steely Dan. Rob moved to Ottawa and in 2000 joined the Rock/Blues band MoFlo performing material by Stevie Ray Vaughn, BB King, AC DC, Coldplay, Elton John and the Beatles.
Since 2004 Rob has performed in jazz and gypsy jazz formats. Regular partners in crime include Paul Bordeau (i.e. Swing Guitars), Gerri Trimble, Mark Fraser, Peter Hum, Karen Rauh, and Charley Gordon.
