Since moving to Ottawa in 2008, woodwind artist Richard Page has become a fixture on the Ottawa music scene. He has become a sought-after performer and educator for all levels.
Richard teaches saxophone, flute and clarinet. He is knowledgeable an experienced teaching both jazz and classical genres as well as the Royal Conservatory of Music exams.
Throughout his career, Richard has performed with many great artists, such as: Bob Brookmeyer, Rick Wilkins, Mike Rud, Phil Nimmons, and many others. He has also performed all over the world, including the Montreaux, Vienne, Montreal and Ottawa Jazz Festivals.
In Ottawa, Richard can be found performing with The Night On The Town Band, The Prime Rib Big Band, ERU-ERA, The Commotions, Renée Landry and The Cool, and many others.
Richard attended Mohawk College, where he studied woodwinds with Don Englert (Buddy Rich), Darcy Hepner (Blood, Sweat and Tears) and Terry Basom (Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin). He has also studied with Canadian jazz great Kirk MacDonald, and spent four years studying under world-renowned woodwind specialist, Tim Price.
