Lindsey has extensive experience with piano and vocal instruction. She teaches beginner to advanced voice (up to Grade 10) and beginner to intermediate piano (up to Grade 7 RCM). She specializes in building a strong foundation and musical skills in both instruments and enjoys teaching students of all ages. Lindsey coaches vocal and piano students in Royal Conservatory of Music, Canada Conservatory, and Contemporary Idioms.
She has completed her MMus degree in Vocal Performance at the University of Ottawa studying with Prof. Ingemar Korjus. She has had the pleasure of studying with world renowned countertenor Daniel Taylor and pedagogue Richard Miller as well as Prof. Thérèse Boudreault-Sévadjian, Gary Relyea, Heather Meyers and Elizabeth Raycroft. She has performed in many operas as well as performed and directed musical theatre and operetta. Her operatic roles include Dorabella from Mozart’s Cosi fan Tutte, Mrs. McLean from Carlisle Floyd’s Susannah, Miss Todd from Menotti’s The Old Maid and the Thief and Hänsel from Humperdinck’s Hänsel und Gretel. She has also sung as the alto soloist for Handel’s Messiah, R. Vaughan Williams’ Magnificat and Vivaldi’s Magnificat.
Lindsey has her BMus degree from the University of Alberta and a Performer’s Certificate from The King’s University College, both in Edmonton, Alberta. While in Edmonton, she taught voice at the Alberta College Conservatory of Music and adjudicated voice categories in festivals throughout Alberta. She has spent time in Europe, studying at the Mozarteum in Salzburg, Austria and at the Lyric Opera Studio Weimar in Weimar, Germany.
