Ueli thoroughly enjoys teaching music and sharing his insights, he creates an encouraging and motivating atmosphere for his students. Classes are structured to the individual student ensuring they learn the fundamentals of their instrument with essential technique, ear training, music reading and improvisation, while learning different styles and traditions of music. The joy of playing and understanding music are the key goals of Ueli's instruction.
 

For more advanced students Ueli offers lesson studies in jazz theory, jazz improvisation, music composition and arranging. Ueli will help prepare students for University auditions and Royal Conservatory of Music examinations.


Ueli Dörig is the author of the music book Saxophone Sound Effects. This book is published by the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston and distributed worldwide by the world's largest music book company The Hal Leonard Corporation. Ueli holds a bachelor of education from Switzerland and a dual bachelor degree in jazz composition and performance from the Berklee College of Music. He is also a former member of the Swiss Army Music Corps and an active composer and performing artist.

Ueli Dörig is available for private instruction in English and French on saxophone, flute, and clarinet.

Ueli graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Berklee College of Music with a Bachelor of Music in Performance and a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Composition. Ueli received a Berklee World Scholarship award and other scholarships in Switzerland for "promising international students".

 

Ueli has a Teaching Degree from Switzerland. He has taught different subjects at all levels of school giving him excellent teaching experience with students of all ages. He is fluent in English, French and German. From 1998 to 2007 Ueli played the saxophone in the Swiss Army. Ueli is the founder and member of the international jazz band "The Ueli Dörig Group". He is the author of the music book Saxophone Sound Effects, which is printed by the prestigious Berklee Press and distributed by The Hal Leonard Company, the world's largest music book company.
