Alcorn
Music Studios is proud to present its second annual Trumpet Bootcamp.
Bootcamp 2010 was very successful, but taught
us a few lessons that are allowing us to offer both an expanded and more
refined experience at Bootcamp 2011.
We are encouraging students 14 years of age and older to join us for an
intense course designed to improve your abilities as a musician and trumpet
player. Scheduled conveniently near the end of summer, students will
enjoy better results on start-of-the-year auditions, and avoid the
embarrassment of showing up to first rehearsals with ‘summer chops’.
Advanced students will enjoy building their abilities in the many different
playing, practicing and performing situations. Firmly rooted in the
fundamentals of brass playing with an emphasis on musicianship, this course
is designed to give students knowledge, focus and discipline. Listening and
interaction are key in the pursuit of making great music, but also in the
education process. Our goal is to provide an environment where students are
well supported and feel free to get involved, ask questions and grow.
In order for the musician to make better music, one must strive for more
fluency on their
instrument. Some areas we focus on to build our students’ abilities are:
• Time
• Listening
• Ensemble Playing
• Technique and Facility
• Flexibility and the Upper Register
• Endurance and Stamina
